FILEY SC SUPERNOVA NATIONALS

After many years of searching for a fabulous East Coast venue, this year's Nationals will be held on 26-28 June at the North East of England's top sailing venue, Filey Sailing Club. The venue offers fantastic open water sailing, great facilities and professional race management. This is where the the iconic Filey Regatta is held annually, so you know it's going to be a truly memorable event.
Restricted 95 boats maximum entry offer
The Association is once again grateful for the support of Hartley Boats in providing sponsorship and a voucher support offer for all entrants, up to the venue limit of 95, so early booking is essential. The entry price is just £100 for 3 days of top class sailing, but that's not all!
Every entrant will receive a £25 Hartley Boats voucher towards any piece of kit from the Hartley Boats extensive chandlery, but that's not all!
Every entrant will receive their choice of our 30 year commemorative headware (baseball cap or beanie), but thats not all!
The club are providing an inclusive Friday night meal to all entrants (plus 1s tickets available from the club), but that's not all!
Free parking is available at the venue for cars and trailers of entrants (parking tickets for display will be available in the clubhouse at registration), But that's not all!
Discounted camping is available for the first 40 applicants (see the club's info. attachment - link below), But that's not all!
The venue is set in one of the most beautiful places in the UK with lots to do and see, but that's not all!
We have a fabulous Saturday night waterfront meal venue set up at the Bay View Restaurant, with guest speakers and automatically entered (on ordering a Saturday night meal ticket) raffle prizes, provided by Hartley Boats!

Please note: if paying by bank transfer you will be added to the entrants list once your payment has been confirmed by the class treasurer. Paying via PayPal results in your entry being immediately added to the entrants list.
Entry closes at midnight on 12th June or when all 95 places have been allocated (which ever occurs first).
Racing programme
You can expect excellent racing throughout the fleet, from beginners all the way up to super-fit podium-chasers. There's something for everyone in the friendliest fleet on the water.
- Nine races across three days (as ever, subject to the conditions).
- Similar courses to those in previous years, with a trapezoid and then sausage(s).
- Race duration 40-50 minutes for the leaders.
- Sailing out beyond the headland if possible, or in the bay if conditions demand it.
- Gate starts as standard, subject to fleet size and RO/ Safety management discretion.
The club has set aside their main annual Regatta in order to host our Supernova Nationals event. The club management and professional RO focus will be on providing a top class event for the Supernova Class.
The CA will organise training and post race day briefings TBC.
Social programme
On Friday Night Filey SC will provide an evening meal to entrants (plus 1s availalable) in the form of a BBQ or pie and peas format.
On Saturday evening we'll have a dinner at the Bay View Restarant, with guest speakers and raffle prizes for event entrants holding Saturday Night Dinner tickets. This is a great chance to mix with your sailing buddies, make new friends and exchange stories of triumph and disaster, as well as help the class celebrate 30 years since the Supernova's design and inception. The cost is £26.50 per person if you'd like to attend, payable in advance with your entry. If you have any special dietary requirements, please send an email to supernovatonyb@gmail.com.
On other evenings, there will be plenty of opportunity to mingle with your fellow sailors or do your own thing. Filey has loads of good pubs and restaurants, and the beautiful North East Yorkshire countryside is right on the doorstep.

Freebies
Every entrant who attends will receive a 30th Anniversary commemorative head gear item of their choice (baseball cap or beanie) to help us all remember the event. These will be One Size and adjustable as required. Each entrant who attends will also receive a Hartley Boats Gift Voucher.
Prizes
There will be prizes for Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Beginner, Lady and Youth and 1st Veteran (age 65 and over), as well as perhaps the odd prize for anyone who, ahem, distinguishes themselves during the racing (subject to CA protocols on fleet viability).
Request for assistance
In addition to the sailors' launch assistance rota (see the Event Information tab), it would great to get help with launching and recovery from any willing non-sailors.
