...Supernova and Lightning Friendly - Fishguard SC

24th-26th May 2008

Last year we lost one day of racing and one yacht, this year we lost all the racing (one day) and no yachts which must be an improvement.

Despite the conditions the two ladies Pauline Buzzard and Leslie Jeannes went out and had a burn up in a force 6 with 5-6 foot waves, they were guarded by Martin Johnnes the commodore and Geoff Mountain in the safety boat. Poor Barry Buzzard hurt his back putting on his sailing gear so was only able to watch. The rest of the party (Mark, Anne, Terrie and Geoff Worrall and Elfin Morgan) departed with a friend of Mark and Annes for a walk in the sun out of the wind at Newport and a late lunch at Lauren's house in hot sun.

The Yacht club provided a very good social evening and dinner, the two sailing ladies beating Geoff Mountain and Elfyn at poole later in the evening. All the Supernova crowd repaired back to Mark and Annes house to sleep.

Sadly Sunday started with torrential rain. No racing has been planned for this day due to there being so few entries. Some set off home and the rest of us, 6 in all explored Fishguard and its surrounds, watched the Grand Prix, read the papers and had dinner at the Giles' in the evening.

Shame about the weather but we had a good time.
