Bartley very successfully hosted the Supernova Winter Championship on Sunday 25th Febuary, 25 boats from afar as Bolton, Cardiff and Bough Beech were greeted with a consistant force 3 North Westerly wind with frequent strong gusts.
The first race got away cleanly with a gruelling course that utilised all of the reservoir Steve Broom took full advantage of the gusty conditions and won his first race of the day closely followed by Bruce Howett, Paul Earnshaw, Richard Pakes, Mike Gibson and Jeff Tucker.
The second race got underway in very tricky conditions with vicious gusts causing some early retirements. The course was short and tactical and Broom put in a great performance to cross the finish line once again in first position Gibson battled withl Boneham to come in 2nd and 3rd, 4th place was Howett , 5th Robinson and 6th Birch.
The third race again got away cleanly to a more consistant wind and Howett was rewarded for his consistant sailing coming in first, Gibson 2nd, Boneham 3rd, Earnshaw 4th, Winter 5th, Tucker 6th.
