10 visitors and 5 home boats competed in what turned out to be unsettled conditions. The sun was shinning and wind pleasant but the direction resulted in the wind bending around Bredon Hill and the club house making areas of river with out wind.

The fleet was separated into two flights to make more space on the line. The first race saw local boats off to a strong start with Steve Hawley establishing a lead in the first flight and Chris Hawley doing the same in the second flight. Neil Boneham was OCS but recovered well taking places quickly towards the end of the race. With the flights five minutes apart there had to be some number crunching, the outcome was C.Hawley, S.Hawley, Grant Brown and Boneham taking the first four places.

After a pleasant lunch on the balcony the flights were reversed. With the visitors becoming acclimatised to the conditions the local boats started to find the conditions harder. S.Hawley got off to a good start but was quickly pressured by Pete Jones and Boneham, S.Hawley and Boneham pulled away from the chasing flight. In the second start C.Hawley and Phil Hossell got away best but positions all changed with Hossell capsizing to the ultimate benefit of Dave Everett. Paul Harwood learned the effect that a large tree can have on the wind by pirouetting his boat and skilfully avoided a capsize. S.Hawley finished first followed by C.Hawley, Boneham and Everett.

In the final race the fleet was juggled up to put the people in contention into the same start.
Barry Buzzard took full advantage making it first to the windward mark followed by C.Hawley. C.Hawley lead for the majority of the race but the changing conditions saw the fleet catch up and Boneham take the lead followed by Everett. Ian Casewell was fastest , in the second flight, but couldn’t get into the top three. Boneham took the finish followed by C.Hawley, Everett and S.Hawley.
