The Supernovas were treated to a healthy Force 5 for their visit to Blithfield. Decided to enter, but in the freshening breeze, only 15 boats posted race results.

Andy Flitcroft was in top form all day. Race 1 saw him take an early lead, a position he comfortably held to the finish. New class builders, Mark and Richard Hartley were second and third at the first mark, closely followed by Mike Gibson. Despite lying eighth at this point, Tony Wild battled his way through the field, eventually overhauling Richard Hartley on the final lap to finish third behind Mark.

After lunch, the wind speed further increased for Race 2. An unlucky Tony Wild was forced to retire at the start when his forestay was shredded by another boat capsizing across his bow. Richard Hartley established an early lead, followed by Andy Flitcroft, Mark Hartley, Neil Boneham and Mike Gibson. Mark and Neil were successfully overhauled by Mike and the finishing order was Flitcroft, R Hartley and Gibson.

The wind eased slightly for the final race with Gibson leading after lap one, followed by Flitcroft, R Hartley and M Hartley. Richard Hartley retired whilst Tony Wild battled from sixth to first in lap two, only for Flitcroft to fight back. The finishing positions were Flitcroft, Wild, Gibson and M Hartley.

Hartley Laminates supplied the prizes, including a perpetual engraved crystal plate. The final results were:-
