Supernovas at Wimbleball SC Warm and sunny conditions with varying south-easterly winds greeted the Supernova fleet at Wimbleball SC on June 21st. Seventeen visitors accompanied the resident boats totalling twenty-three competitors. Visitors came from as far a field as Fowey and Bartley. In addition to the open meeting, participants also competed for the Supernova travellers trophy. Three races were sailed, with many position changes due to the testing wind shifts. The first race was sailed in reasonably consistent winds with more varying conditions in the second and third events. There was however, some consistency from the top finishing boats with Leslie Arscot from Exe SC dominating the event with a second and two firsts. Tom Abbott from Sutton Bingham was second with a first, sixth and a third. Local sailor Geoff Curtis took full advantage of the testing conditions in the final two races and scored a fifth and two seconds, to give him third place overall.
