The Supernova Class Association traveller series prizes were presented on Saturday the 6th December following the class' Xmas pudding fun event at Haversham Sailing Club.

Despite the light winds forecast, 21 sailors competed in the Xmas pudding event being split into teams for 3 races to compete in a team racing style format. This echoed the success of the travellers series during the year.

The 2014 Supernova traveller series sponsored by Noble Marine has seen over 100 sailors compete in the highly competitive series. With 20+ boats regularly turning out to compete it there were a number of very close and tactical races. As well as the experienced sailors there were many new faces turning up showing what they can do.

In all there have been 7 different winners and, for the 3rd year in a row, ex-chairman of the Supernova Association, Paul Earnshaw (Haversham SC), has defended his traveller series title with 2 open victories and a consistent score line. 2nd in the series was race programme/results master Paul Undrell (Haversham SC) and in 3rd place was Steve Johnson (Cotswold SC).

Steve Johnson was crowned winner of the "Travellers Traveller" trophy, which is awarded to the person who takes part in the most number of races.

The Supernova Class Association would like to say a big thank you to Noble Marine for their generous sponsorship of this year's travellers series. Also big thanks to all the volunteers, clubs and sailors for their hard work and commitment to the class creating very close great racing all the way through the fleet.

2015 looks very positive for this very strong class; 16 travellers events, 3 major championships, including nationals at Paignton on 19 – 21 June where we are hoping for another record turnout to break the 70 boats mark.
