question about the Giles MK1 boats?

while recover a boat last week there seemed to be a crackling sounds, delamination sound, not sure if its from the daggerboard or the boat. Where there issues on the Giles boats around the Daggerboard slot?
There are also some spider cracks on the daggerboard which tell me it may be coming from that?

Any advice/help welcome or info very welcome.

Hi Dave,

I had 599 for a couple of years and had a problem when recovering from a capsize, with the board right down the front part of the board, where it is slightly cut off punched into the inside of the casing and caused it to start leaking, had to have it professionally repaired, thanks Bishop Skinner!!, as access had to be gained by removing some of the internals. I now try and make sure I have the board just a little up so that I don't put pressure on the inside of the casing.

I also had a light weight dagger board, it maybe be my body mass but it made some very unpleasant noises recovering a capsize so I stopped using it on windy days just in case.

Hope that is useful
