Crack repairs

Hello all, just got myself a nice tidy early Giles MK1 boat. During trailering home, hairline cracks have developed on both side decks along the gunnels. They look cosmetic only but I am not best pleased by this as I thought I had not over tightened the ratchet strap. I am wondering if there is a way to repair these crack and how I should secure the boat for future transportation to avoid repeating. Any answer appreciated. John.
